The F14 Tomcat Display Panel Controller puts the F-14 pilot’s Displays panel in real hardware in front of you, so the controls that drive the cockpit displays come off the keyboard and onto a real surface.
This is the panel that runs the front cockpit displays. From here you select the master MODE (TO, CRUISE, A/A, A/G, LDG), set the HUD, VDI and HSD source and approach modes (declutter, ILS, ACL, AWL, NAV, TID, ECM), switch display POWER for the VDI, HUD and HST/ECM, and pick the STEER CMD source (TACAN, DEST, AWL/PCD, VEC, MAN). The PITCH LAD knob trims pitch ladder brightness.
Out of the box it presents as a HID joystick, so every control maps to standard joystick buttons you can bind however you like. The unit is also configured to work with DCSBIOS, letting you jump into the sim without mapping controls, and it allows the DCS lighting to sync to the panel.
The panel carries red LED backlighting. In DCSBIOS mode the backlighting is driven by DCS, and in HID mode it’s adjustable with a button combo. Note the text on the Pitch Lad knob is not backlit.
It’s sized to the real F-14 display panel’s profile.
- 6mm top plate with the F-14 display panel layout
- 3mm acrylic backplate
- 3D printed Enclosure
